Winter Sports and Wisconsin Health Insurance

I am not a happy camper when I have to scrape the frost off my car in the morning before heading to work.  My fingers freeze as I wait for my car to slowly but surely defrost and warm up to a desirable temperature.  Needless to say, winter is not my favorite season, but living in Central Wisconsin during the winter does have some benefits in that there are plenty of winter sports to participate in.

  • Skiing and snowboarding are very popular winter sports, especially when Granite Peak is right in the heart of Wisconsin in Wausau.  Granite Peak has a high-speed six-person lift, a new chalet was recently built, and other improvements have been made to this ski resort.  There are many great ski resorts throughout the state; check some out here.
  • Snowmobiling is another popular winter sport in Wisconsin, with many snowmobiling clubs touring the trails throughout the winter.  There’s also the Portage County Ice Wars, which takes place each winter at the Portage County Fairgrounds in Amherst.  Find out more information on their Web site.

There are many more winter sports to enjoy in Wisconsin, such as sledding, snowshoeing, and ice skating.  Winter sports can be fun, but there are also many hazards such as ice.  Remember to stay safe when participating in winter sports and protect yourself with a Wisconsin health insurance policy.  Contact your insurance agent to find out more about health insurance plans and bundle up because it’s cold out there!
