Easter Recipe: Peeps Cupcakes

peepsThe upcoming holiday weekend has many people thinking about what they will be bringing to their Easter celebrations. There will be plenty of candy to pass around after Easter baskets are found, but what’s better then mixing candy with dessert. Check out the simple recipe below that will allow you to use any extra Peeps or jelly beans to make an adorable Easter treat.

Ingredients:
1 package of yellow cake mix
1 package of Peeps
16 oz. package of white frosting
Green food coloring
20-30 Jelly beans (optional)

Begin by baking the cupcakes as directed on the box instructions. Once you are finished baking the cupcakes, allow them to cool.

As the cupcakes are cooling, mix about 15 drops of the green food coloring with the white frosting. Keep adding food coloring to the frosting until you get your desired green color.

Frost each of your cupcakes with the green frosting mixture. Then place one peep on top of every cupcake. You can also place jelly beans around the Peep on the cupcake for added decoration. Once you are finished frosting and placing the peeps you can enjoy this adorable sweet treat. This recipe is super easy and the perfect thing to bring to any Easter gathering.

Enjoy!
