25th Annual Holiday Parade in Downtown Stevens Point

After the first snow fall, the realization that Christmas is right around the corner has hit. Tonight marks a big event in Stevens Point, it is the 25th annual holiday parade that strolls through the downtown area. This year’s theme is the, “Countdown to Christmas.”

The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:15 pm after the annual lighting of the Christmas tree that adorns “the square” in the downtown area. There will be 75 floats featured in the parade, including different emergency vehicles and area marching bands. The parade begins on the south side of Main St. and ends by the Christmas tree in the square.

If you have nothing going on tonight, consider heading downtown Stevens Point and seeing the area lit up in holiday decorations. While you are downtown, you can walk down Main Street and grab a bite to eat somewhere. There is also a variety of stores, coffee shops, and taverns to check out before or after the parade.

Just make sure you bundle up in warm clothes and maybe consider a thermos of hot chocolate. The temperature will be around 23 degrees at 6 pm tonight so don’t forget your mittens.

Have a wonderful weekend!
